Exploring Cyberspace

Cyberspace Definition:
  1. The electronic medium of computer networks, in which online communication takes place.
  2. Cyberspace is a domain characterized by the use of electronics and the electromagnetic spectrum to store, modify, and exchange data via networked systems and associated physical infrastructures. In effect, cyberspace can be thought of as the interconnection of human beings through computers and telecommunication, without regard to physical geography.
Artificial Intelligence Definition:
  1. The ability of a computer or other machine to perform those activities that are normally thought to require intelligence.
  2. The branch of computer science concerned with the development of machines having this ability.
Transhumanism:
  1. An international intellectual and cultural movement supporting the use of science and technology to improve human mental and physical characteristics and capacities

2 examples of Virtual Communication:
  1. Asgard (On-line Game) This is a online fantasy 3D game, which you have to develop a character and you can choose between 7 jobs and in that 7 jobs, certain ones can be pulled up to a different job. Although it is a developing character, you need communication to develop the characters. Guild is an important one for communicating with people. When I did this game, I was in two different guilds. It was a new experience and because they were mostly my age, it was fun communicating with each other. My friend played with me and also because she's been contacting people in that guild in real life, I had a chance to see them as well. Unlikely like other people who had bad experiences with online chats and others, they were just normal students like me. I'm still friends with them and we meet up when I go back to Korea.
