Research of Jerry N. Uelsmann

Jerry N. Uelsmann

Jerry Uelsmann is an artist and a photographer.
He had over 100 individual shows in United States and abroad for the past forty years.
The surprising thing about Uelsmann is that his work has been up in the museum of photography in South Korea.
Out of all his artworks and photographs, an unusual artwork caught my eyes.
It is an artwork from 1990 called 'Untitled'.

This artwork looked very fasinating as to how it is composed and positioned, and the meaning behind it.
The idea of sand inside the house and the sunshine shining from the window beside adds a sense of mood to the work.
The sand castle inside the room can symbolise an imaginary world of own.
The colours cannot be defined as it is in greyscale.
But because this work is more of a photography than a painting, elements of arts cannot be defined as in detail.
