Shot types- Examples in Alice in Wonderland

Shot type: Over the shoulder, medium close up,  low angle shot
Low angle shot makes the queen look powerful and dominates the scene.
The over the shoulder shot shows the queen's face over the frog which creates more domination.
The medium close up of the shot displays the expression in detail shown through the queen's face.
Also it gives the audience to feel the fear and isolation in the scene.
  • Props- Crown (Smaller than her head) Big head (selfish, symbol of that she's into herself) not a very good queen as she is too big or not enough for the crown
  • Make-up (extravagant) Big Eye: watching you, symbolism of power, sense of fear
  • Light on the frog's face, shadow on the queen- Good and Evil, Good:Frog & Evil:Queen
Shot type: Wide/long wide, low angle
The position of the man shows how he's very small to the other objects in the scene.
Low angle is shown through as it captures the face of the man, and what he is actually doing.
It shows the sense of how high up he is and how tall the files are.
Emphasis the height of the files
  • Trying to show that he is escaping through the window on the roof
  • Professor or a patient- the white coat
  • Visual Clue in the scene - the poster behind (Trying to escape from a mental hospital/institution)

 Shot type: Close-up shot
  • Eyes
  • Background
  • Clothes
  • Make-up, colour eye lens
  • Hair colour
Shot type: Medium, low angle shot
Visual Clues: Gray suit, the badges on his suit
Low angle is used to show the position of his hierarchy, the power that he has
